Verginate village  is a lovely group of few stone houses situated 400 mt high, just 5 minutes drive up the hill from Bellano, on the eastern coast of Lake Como after passing the village of Oro.

You have to travel far and wide to discover a setting that is so special, so unique. The drive up to Verginate  village  with a narrow and  curvy  road is unforgettable :  you travel up into the hill and are instantly transported from the modern world back to another era into a oasis of calm , a place where time seems like it  has stopped.

The village is on the route “ il Sentiero del Viandante”( Path of the Viandante)  historical  path  of the region and placed on a  candidate list with lake Como to enter  as  UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites .

The ancient mule track dating back to the Roman period is running along the eastern coast of Lake Como, along the first slopes of the mountains ​with rustic stone dwellings, the ruins of old mills, castles, numerous chapels and small mountain churches and terraces cultivated with vineyards and olive groves.​
